LAM

New art museum in Lisse for all ages with glass elevators at the entrance.

The LAM Lisse opens its doors

You will find this modern building, only two-thirds of which protrudes above the ground, in the green woodlands of Lisse in the Southern Netherlands. The building’s remaining third is buried in the ground. As you walk over the public footpath, you can walk across the entire length of the building. The fun thing is that, just like in a high street, you can look into the various areas. The Lisse Art Museum aka the LAM Lisse will open its doors in 2018.

The VandenBroek Foundation

The founder of the museum is the Van den Broek family, famous for its supermarket chain by the same name. This is their way to share the various pieces in their art collection with the public. The theme ‘food and consumption’ will come as no surprise. But maybe you’re interested in something else? Don’t worry, private collections and guest exhibitions will be held regularly alongside the regular collection.

During the construction of the museum, television producer Misha Buwalda made a mini-series that allows you to follow the construction. Hoisting the elevator into the building was a spectacular sight.
